Greenland Women’s Club Scholarships

GFWC has been promoting and supporting education since its inception; today education continues to be a major area of focus our club.

Two (2) $1000 Scholarships
 One scholarship will be awarded to a High School Senior who is a resident of Greenland, NH who will attend an accredited two-or four-year college, university or technical school full time.

One scholarship will be awarded to a Female resident of Greenland, NH who will be continuing, returning or starting later in life a full time accredited two-or four-year college, university or technical school.


Application Requirements for High School Seniors

1) Local Scholarship Application to include details of employment, volunteer andextracurricular history with number of years of participation for each activity listed.PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE FINANCIAL INFORMATION.Note: This application is also available through the Guidance Department atPortsmouth High School.

2) Academic Transcript.

3) Personal Essay by candidate (no more than 2 pages) to include:

  • a) School(s) to which you have been accepted, and the one you plan to attend and why.

  • b) A description of your career plans and ambitions.

  • c) Description of a life or educational experience that influenced your decisions about your future goals.

4) Recommendation(s) (not to exceed 2) from an adult (teacher, coach, employer etc.) who knows you well and can speak to your character.

confidential by the committee.
